6:03 PM EST by Hairy Scary Man
After weeks of being a simple rumor, the Xbox 360 price cuts are now official. Major Nelson announced today via his blog the news. The latest round puts the Arcade version at $199, Premium at $299, and Elite at $399. The price cuts go into effect this Friday, September 5th. This is significant because it now places the Arcade version of the 360 at a lower price than Nintendo's Wii. This move, along with the upcoming dashboard revision, makes the Arcade version more appealing to the casual market.
